About Warehouse District
The Warehouse District in Houston can be found on the city's downtown northeast side. It was transformed from an industrial zone to a residential area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is now full of loft conversions and bohemian residents. Here you can find activities of a more unconventional sort. The alternative art scene is bustling with several galleries and art studios within the district. Remnants of a settlement called Frost Town that predates the founding of Houston can still be found within the Warehouse District. Great shopping options can be found all over the Warehouse District in places like Market Square, and in the numerous trendy specialty shops it boasts. The nightlife is the highlight of the Warehouse District. Fashionable clubs have popped up all over downtown's Warehouse District. Some notable nightclubs that shouldn't be missed are Next, Bayou Place, and the Last Concert Cafe. When visiting the Warehouse District don't forget to stop by the Warehouse Live venue to see the hottest live music in the area. Family time is sure to be a big hit at Minute Maid Park catching an Astro's game. No matter what you're looking for, a day can be well spent in Houston's Warehouse District.
