Beginning Guitar I

Guitar I is an excellent class for beginning guitarists as well as teachers, song leaders, and camp counselors. Learn to read music, proper left-and right-hand technique, and strumming for song accompaniment. By the end of this class you should be able to play several of your favorite songs. NOTE: No prior guitar experience is required for Beg I. Bring your guitar (or a rental) to class. David Payne is a guitar teacher and player who has taught for LLU for over 10 years. He has been named best guitar teacher in Houston twice in the annual Houston Press Awards. He is currently in the bands Smokin' Mirrors and Dog Party.
