Kayaking is a fun, easy way, to get exercise and to navigate any kind of water under amost all conditions: lakes, rivers, bays, oceans, etc. Discover the pleasure of paddling a sleek kayak while learning about seamanship, safety, navigation, equipment and areas to paddle around Houston. The first part of class features intriguing videos and a discussion of all aspects of kayaking. The second part includes two hours on the water, learning proper paddling techniques using several different designs of solo kayaks. NOTE: Classroom instruction is in Seabrook paddling is on Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. John Coggin (or staff), a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain, has over 40 years of experience in water sports. He's a member of the U.S. Rowing Association, the American Sailing Association, the National Association of Safe Boating Laws Administrations and other professional organizations.
