Starting with nothing but the idea of a non-profit organization, learn how to write a business plan and a contract, plus sources of grants and funds. Forming an organization, creation of a board, and other aspects of the operation of a non-profit business will be discussed. An individual should come with an idea of the enterprise in which they are interested, their knowledge of the enterprise, and related factors. Judy Arfa, CPA, owns a firm that specializes in non-profit organizations. Since 2004, she has audited several large non-profit entities. She has taught classes for the Houston Public Libraries and United Way. Judy is a volunteer for Texas Accountants And Lawyers For The Arts where she has volunteered over 500 hours of her time helping with the establishment of newly formed non-profit entities.
