License Certification & Recertification

Learn Texas' concealed handgun qualifications, when force is permitted, non-violent conflict resolution, safe storage and handling of firearms (child safety) and range safety. Upon successful completion of the course and the demonstration of handgun proficiency, students are awarded the handgun proficiency certificate required when applying for a Concealed Handgun Permit. For recertification, new laws will be covered on the first day conflict resolution and shooting proficiency will be covered the second day. NOTE: Students must be at least within 6 months of their 21st birthday to enroll in this class and to receive state certification. Guns are not to be brought to the first class. The second weekend, the afternoon portion of the class will meet at a shooting range near Hobby Airport. Buddy Kelley is a DPS and NRA-certified instructor. He has been teaching hunters, police and civilian groups since 1954.
