To start, hear two of the most soul-stirring works ever written in Strauss’s poignant musings on life, death, and transcendence: “Death and Transfiguration” and “Four Last Songs.” Then, sparks fly and spirits soar as we feel the racing pulse of history’s most legendary ladies’ man in “Don Juan” and encounter a loveable trickster who always gets the last laugh in “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks.” Conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
