Join us for a special presentation on "Fellini's Eternal Rome: Paganism and Christianity in the Films of Federico Fellini", a recently released book authored by Professor Alessandra Carrera from the University of Houston.

Alessandro Carrera is Director of Italian Studies and Graduate Director of World Cultures and Literatures at the University of Houston. He has published extensively in the fields of Italian and Comparative Literature, Philosophy, Music, and Cinema. Recently, he has edited works of Italian philosophers (Massimo Cacciari and Emanuele Severino), and two volumes on music (Music and Society in Italy, special issue of "Forum Italicum," 2015) and La memoria delle canzoni. Popular Music e identità italiana (Puntoacapo 2017). He has published a collection of poems, Beato chi scrive (Nottetempo 2016), the essay, Benedetto Croce in Texas. Storie di filosofia italiana in Nord America (QuiLibri 2017) and is currently working on a book on Fellini (Fellini's Eternal Rome: Paganism and Christianity in the Films of Federico Fellini, Bloomsbury 2018). He has translated into Italian all the songs and prose of Bob Dylan, recipient of the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature.
