Axiom Quartet’s epic season opener will be truly a concert like no other! The centerpiece of our program will feature George Crumb’s iconic work Black Angels. Axiom will arm themselves with an array of electric and percussive instruments to perform this complex, wild and sometimes scary piece; timed just right for Halloween. Combined with Black Angels we will present the second movement from Franz Schubert’s String Quartet No.14, based on the same composer’s song Death and the Maiden. In keeping with the idea of death, we are presenting Schubert’s spooky song about a fate filled evening with death, Erlkönig. What better genre of music to compliment black and death than Metal? Axiom will be shredding new versions of Metallica, Megadeath, and Slayer’s legendary music If you think you’ve seen it all - you truly have not, until you see Axiom Quartet’s season opening concert!
