The City of Houston Municipal Court tour is part of the 4-week Civics series. You may find out more information below about this group learning opportunity. This tour is free and open to any interested persons. The civics course is included in the Houston Black Homeschoolers, Inc. membership fees. For non-members, there is a cost associated with the class.
Civics Class Information
During this special Civics series, Texas students will have the opportunity to learn more about Black History and the Civil Rights Movement while fulfilling their "good citizenship" requirement. During this 4-week series, students will learn how the local, state, and federal government work. The background classes may be taken live or on-line, and the hands-on component includes a tour of the City of Houston Municipal Court and a trip to Austin to visit the Capitol, meet with state senators and representatives, take the University of Texas at Austin's Diversity Tour, and visit Austin's HBCU- Huston Tillotson.

Friday, February 22, 2019- Huston Tillotson (1 pm to 2 pm)
Travel Information
Travel and lodging for Austin is at participants own expense. It is not included in the Civics class series registration fee. Please contact us if you would like to travel as a group. Information about hotel accommodations is forthcoming.
