Censored Facts Exposed: American History Past & Present

Did you know that there was a serious fascist plot to overthrow Franklin Roosevelt? And are you aware that strong evidence exists that Afro-Phoenicians explored the Americas centuries before Columbus? These and other fascinating facts about American history including information about the Civil War will be explored in the first half of each night of this class. If you feel that something was missing in your high school history class, you're probably right. Taught by a recently retired history teacher who now has the shackles off, she will share with you things she couldn't share in school. The second half of each class will be a discussion of current events ones often inspired by events in the past. Bonnie Ross (BA, Political Science, Texas State) taught many different social studies classes in HISD. Her final assignment was seven years at the High School for Law Enforcement. In 1976, she was a congressional intern for Texas Congressman Bob Krueger.
