My Mama's Pasta Sauce

Pasta never goes out of style. Lucia's family has been cooking and eating it for decades! In this class, Lucia will share her mother's traditional Sicilian pasta sauce or “suga”, complete with meatballs. We will prepare Basil Pesto Ligurian style with fettuccine noodles and also Smoked Salmon & Shallot Cream Sauce over linguine. Then we'll will look at several different types of pasta noodles & discuss other sauce ideas as well as the role of basil, oregano and other Italian herbs. Come hungry! Lucia Bettler is past president of the International Herb Association, a certified aromatherapist, and a member of the Herb Society of America. She is the owner of Lucia's Garden, an herb store, and tends a thriving herb garden. She has wowed LLU students for many years with her cooking classes.
