You can thread the machine and wind the bobbin but still don't feel confident about sewing. Learn how to read a pattern, customize it, and assemble a garment, complete with zipper and buttonholes. Bring a sewing machine and its user's guide. Kits to take home samples of instructions provided for $25. Prerequisite: Sewing FUNdamentals or equivalent knowledge. Roberta Irwin learned to sew under the guidance of her grandmother and has been doing clothing construction and home decorating, personally and professionally, all of her adult life. She has taught people of all ages. Since 1997, she has worked in the fabric and home décor industry.
